Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light (laser) to remove unwanted hair.
During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth.

The Science Behind Silky Skin

It is a more long-term solution to reducing body hair. Laser hair removal isn’t considered permanent, but it still has lasting effects. It reduces the number of unwanted hairs in the targeted area and when the hair does grow back, there’s less of it and it’s finer and lighter.
It requires less upkeep than other options. If you are shaving to get rid of body hair, you have to do so every few days, and options like waxing and threading have effects that last about four weeks. In comparison, laser hair removal typically requires four to six sessions and then occasional maintenance in the future.

It can help with other skin issues as well. “Laser hair removal also reduces ingrown hairs and can prevent inflamed bumps and itching. And since it uses light to get rid of hair, you don’t run the risk of dealing with the nicks, cuts and razor burn that go along with shaving.

No downtime is required. While laser hair removal treatments may leave skin a little red and swollen, you can pretty much go back to your daily routine immediately afterward. There’s no downtime to deal with since it’s non-invasive. The only thing you can’t do is immediately go out in the sun or use tanning beds or sun lamps.

It may save money over time. Although the cost of laser hair removal is initially more than, say, purchasing a razor and shaving cream, it pays off over time. Since laser hair removal greatly reduces unwanted hair, regular maintenance that goes along with shaving and waxing isn’t required, so once you pay the initial fee, you shouldn’t have to pay much more.

It can reduce the chance of certain skin diseases. According to Dr. Evans, one of the benefits of laser hair removal is that it can reduce your chance of diseases such as folliculitis, a skin condition that occurs when the hair follicles become inflamed. Research from 2019 that looked at more
unconventional uses of hair removal found this to be the case as well.

It is a really good treatment for those who suffer from folliculitis barbae, which is an itchy and sometimes tender swelling and infection around hair follicles that are prone to shaving, such as the beard line in men.

6 benefits of laser hair removal:

1. Minimal side effects: There are only a few minor side effects of laser hair removal, including temporary discomfort, redness, or swelling in the treatment area. These don’t last for more than a few days.

2. Cost-effective: When you opt for laser hair removal, you will no longer need to spend money on regular wax treatments, razors, or other hair removal
methods. While it may cost more up front, you will save a huge amount of money in the long run, as well as a great deal of time that would otherwise be spent shaving or waxing.

3. You don’t need to wait for hair growth: Unlike with waxing, laser hair removal can be carried out even if your hair is very short. That means you won’t have to wait for your hair to grow between treatments and you can stay fuzz-free permanently!

4. Reduction of ingrown hairs: Ingrown hairs commonly show up in areas of the body that have been shaved or waxed, because the hair has been broken off unevenly. However, with laser hair removal, you won’t have to worry about ingrown hairs, and when your hair does grow back, it tends to be sparse and fine.

5. Laser hair removal leaves your skin softer than before: With laser hair removal, there’s no stray hair or stubble left behind. Your skin will feel silky smooth after a session, and even when it does eventually grow back, it’s thinner and softer than before.

6. There are no painful side effects: With shaving, you are one step away from a cut or bruise and with waxing, there is the risk of your skin being burned. However, laser hair removal leaves no room for
such painful side effects, cuts, scars, or bruises. It’s a no-mess procedure that can be carried out on mostly any part of the body.

F&Q

How many sessions do I need for laser hair removal ?
Most clients need 6 to 8 sessions for optimal results, depending on their hair type, skin tone, and treatment area.
Is laser hair removal painful ?
Most people describe it as a mild snapping sensation, similar to a rubber band. Our advanced cooling technology helps minimize discomfort.
Can laser hair removal be done on all skin types?
Yes! We use Alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers, making treatments safe and effective for both light and dark skin tones.
How long does a laser hair removal session take?
Sessions can last from 10 minutes to an hour, depending on the area being treated.
